Schedule of Robron Courts
I would like to acknowledge the significant effort that the Board has invested in developing a schedule for Robron courts that balances the needs of ALL our players. We looked at scheduling models used by other associations, particularly in Comox, where there has been considerable success with intermediate A & B and advanced divisions. The tag system was not effective last year, so alternative approaches were necessary.
We recognize that many members enjoy open play. That is why the proposed schedule includes one open play session every day, with weekends remaining entirely open play.
We also recognize that many members prefer playing with others of a similar skill level. This is one of the reasons why the current sessions at Baptist Church and Strathcona Gardens are so popular. To address this preference, the proposed schedule includes a dedicated skill-level session Monday through Friday, offering opportunities for Intermediate A, Intermediate B, and Advanced players to play with others of comparable ability.
Realistically, it is impossible to create a schedule that satisfies every member. However, I believe the proposed schedule is both inclusive and balanced, ensuring that all members have access to sessions that meet their needs. In addition, portable nets will be available if a member’s preferred session does not align with the schedule.
As a club, we must strive to be fair and respectful of the diverse needs of our membership. I believe there may be opportunities to make some adjustments to the June schedule, as many members are still playing indoors at Strathcona Gardens. However, during July and August, when demand for outdoor courts is at its highest, I believe this schedule will provide the greatest benefit to the membership as a whole.

It's optimistic to have 8.00 as a start time. Up to now, people generally arrive after 9.00. Like the open sessions.
