Rule clarification pls šŸ˜€

At the c.c. the play happened with the net rope near the wall.

The struck ball went between the post and net but struck the underside of the chord that ties the net to the post and redirected the ball downwards, unsure if anglewise but landed in. If not redirected I had a clear play on it. The decision was to replay the point. A proper net goes to the post, the post being a foul. The chord presents an interesting šŸ¤” rule. At the time due to the wall, as that post is close to the net it seemed as though the hole should be netting but that idea didnt sit right. If it was a chair, coat or object it would be out if hit. It is a necessary part to the net though, it is going around the net but my vote is for a let and replay as the chord interfered with the flight path and is similar to the bars on the bottom of a temporary net. Cheers šŸ»

No, you cannot legally hit a pickleball between the net and the net post. According to USA Pickleball rules, if the ball passes through the gap between the net and the post, it is a fault. The ball must pass completely over the net, or entirely around the outside of the net post to be considered a legal shot.Ā
