correspondence from city council
I received a letter from city council to advise us that the council passed the following resolution in response to our letter writing advocating for more pickleball.
That the correspondence regarding the shortage of pickleball courts in Campbell River be forwarded to the staff for review and update back to council
Thereafter, Robin Mitchell, recreation manager, wrote that
a) city council is now more aware of the pickleball situation
b)that our emails have not fallen on deaf ears
c)that the city would love to provide pball at sportsplex vs community centre but because the fitness classes attracts 50-70 folks which precludes that from happening due to space constraints
d)update of recreation allocation for sportsplex and community guidelines have been started
e) a separate facility is being explored and we will be asked to contribute at some point but it may be a lengthy process
Please keep writing your letters. It is making a difference

Thank you Annette, present board members for working so hard to get this ball rolling. Thank you to all the wonderful proactive members who have taken the time to write letters to City Council as well. As Annette has stated, our concerns have not fallen on deaf ears. Fantastic job everyone!
